1. Complete the first part of the career search exercise handed out in class today.
2. Read
this short news piece on employment prospects for science majors.
3. Read the prologue and intro to
College Grad Seeks Future using the “Look Inside” feature on Amazon.


For Feb 3
1. Read the Career Match chapter for your personality color mix and fill out the lists in Chapter 28 (handed out in class). Three copies of the book will be sitting on the shelf of Kettering 302 by the front door. Bring your list to our next class.
2. Read over the
career page from the American Institute of Biological Sciences to get a sense of the diversity of biology career options.
3. Check out the
biological scientists page from the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
Next week we will start an assignment that will allow you to explore possible career options.


For Jan 27
1. Take at least two of the self assessment tests using Eagle Exploration on the AU Career Services website. The access code to make an account is “tuffy”. See if you think their personality assessment is accurate, and check out their suggested careers.
2. Try another free
self assessment test called MAPP.
